Peekaboo! I see trout!

Peekaboo! Hannah is now 11 1/2 months old with her one year birthday looming ever closer. She is so cute and fills our days with little funnies.

She is cruising from toys to furniture to our legs back to furniture. She is capable of standing without assistance (as long as she's unaware) - but still finds crawling to be the most expedient way to navigate around the house.

She loves lots of things. Haden for one. Every morning Hannah scans the dining area for her big sister and once she "I spies" her - the smile that lights up her face is pretty large! She loves Gymboree. She can climb, throw things (boy can she throw!) and crawl where ever she wishes without interuption or impediment. She loves bubbles and making big splashes in the tub - particularly if she knows that she is getting daddy or me! She loves her bottle. While meals are tasty and bananas, blueberries, peaches are welcome - she crinkles her nose in happy anticipation whenever she knows the bottle is around the corner.

She's clapping her hands with great excitement at anything that makes her happy. Particularly, Tad the Frog who sings with her in the car on the way home every day from Donna's. It's amazing to just look at her and see how big she's getting - hearing her babble in what seems to be perfectly comprehensible jargon to her. She's replaced "Up" with "What." In lieu of a traditional pointing gesture, she uses her entire hand to indicate the question, "What?" - which we've (possibly incorrectly) interpreted as "what is that?" So we are constantly telling her - "That's the bed post" or "That's the fan" or "That's mommy's food.
She's so full of verve, spirit and energy - it's hilarious. She doesn't just laugh when she's really excited - she SCREAMS with delight. It's as though she just can't contain herself. There is no doubt that she has well functioning lungs!

We are also delighted that she is becoming aclimated to the outdoors. Yes, we hardly roughed it when we rented an RV to go to the White Mountains, but we did go to Sedona for a day trip, stripped her down to her swimmer diapers, and let her play in the creek along side her sister and a particularly hungry hawk - who right before our eyes - plucked 2 trout from the creek bed.

We look forward to her 1st birthday with anticipation that this little person will continue to entertain us. And a mere 3 weeks later - we will welcome another tiny Newhouse into our brood....
