Loquacious

Since November, our Hannah has not only mastered the art of the walk, but of the run!  She is an active little girl at just about 18 months old.  She plays so, so hard and seems to have boundless energy.  I've no idea where she has gotten that from!!  At Miss Donna's, she runs to keep up with the older kids (the 2 & 3 year olds) and does a mighty fine job of it.  She talks incessantly (again it is a mystery as to where this trait came from).  Her favorite word still might be "dat" but she is starting to say so many other lovely words:
  • No (also nonononono)
  • Yes (thanks to Nana Clare - pronounced "Yesh"
  • Poop (waste management - she'll fit right in with the rest of my family)
  • Daddy (pronounced Dadeeeee) - she does love her Daddy
  • Mama (praise be - finally!)
  • DeeDee (Haden's nickname - which according to Haden needs to be replaced now that Hannah is almost 2)
  • Baby - also know as Olivia - an upgrade from when "Dat" was the only word used to describe her
  • Shoe - which she persists in removing every time we get in the car
  • Ball - which she is seeking as soon as we pull into the garage each evening
  • Dora - you betcha, the marketing geniuses have gotten a child under the age of 2 to love their character.  Pronounced "Dawa"
  • Up - ever present.  Arguably her first word but now used in the right context, most of the time while crying and trying to get Wade or me to pick her "up."
  • Down - used often an Miss Donna's so she can explore the front yard - pronounced "Dow"
  • Nana - music to Nana Clare's ears
  • Many Alphabet Letters (A,B (one of her favorites), C, D, E, H, I, L, M, O, P, S, T, U, Y) - all of which she can identify for us on T-shirts, books, etc.
  • Moon - pronounced Boo
  • Pretzel (well we understand her anyway) - always looking for these when we get home in the evening
  • Boat -
  • Please and More - still in sign language only - making Wade grateful that we didn't teach her more in sign language, although at this point we wish we'd taught her "Dat."
